Blue Nova

Image
I am using lots of rebased and a few repainted Clix minis in my ongoing Villain Mission Force games (next session will be in mid-June).  Among my favorites of this recent batch I have repainted is Parasite / Blue Nova. I got a Parasite Clix that I had never seen before and gave him a complete repaint as the villain-turned-agent Blue Nova!  Blue Nova and his teammate, the Golem.  This figure was ideal for Speed Paints! The moral of my story here is that old Clix remain a great source for gamers looking to cheaply populate their tables with cool characters. A figure like Parasite, especially in this littler known guise, becomes ideal fodder for a new character like Blue Nova. Hope you liked this insight into how I prep my games.  Thanks for reading! --Scott

Wargames Atlantic Villagers

Image
As I work to finish the Grimme Hack RPG, I got inspired to paint up some of Wargames Atlantic's awesome new Fantasy Villagers .  This kit is really fun, and I am excited to build the next sprue of six in a completely different manner.  I also painted a Reaper Pack Mule.  Not sure if this is Bones Black, Reaper USA, or what.  Used a combo of Speed Paint and normal acrylics.  Some day I will have to do a post on my massive collection of fantasy / historical civilians. I can populate several small towns or one large city. What I need WG to do is a set of hard plastic kids for D&D style games. Add it to the list, WG! Thanks for reading! --Scott

New Item! VMF One Sheet #1: Archer / Javelineer

Image
I have a new release for Villain Mission Force! It's a one page release, the first in a series I am calling One Sheets. Find it here on Drivethru.  Todd S. Tuttle did an amazing job on this super-cool offering.  My plan moving forward is to address some of the other more specialized character types. I think I will do the Stretch character next!  Thanks for reading!  --Scott

Grimme Hack Back On Track!

Image
I spent most of summer and fall of 2024 working on a fantasy RPG called Grimme Hack. Then in November I got inspired to do Villain Mission Force   and I had to see it to its end. Now that VMF has been out a few months, I have had time to rest and recharge.  Now it's back to Grimme Hack !  Check out Todd S. Tuttle's amazing logo for the book:  This is the b&w version cropped from the character sheet.  Along with the logo being done, I also have an amazing cover, but I will wait to show that off for another post.  In the meantime, Grimme Hack  uses Luck points, and characters will begin each game with 1 - 3 of them. While visiting Game Masters, an amazing game shop in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh, I found these awesome, locally produced tokens and had to grab them for use in GH and other games:  They had many colors, but these two were my favorites.  So expect to hear a lot more about GH moving forward on this blog, and on ...

Wargames Atlantic 10mm Orcs

Image
Just finished my first sprue of Wargames Atlantic's 10mm Orcs! These are really great hard plastic figures arranged on the sprue for maximum basing flexibility.  My plan is to use them for Nic Wright's Fantastic Battles  system.  I mainly used Army Painter Speed Paints to on these and they were perfect for the job.  Check them out!  The box comes with great plastic bases for units and command.  Some are heavily armored, others are not.  I really love the Warg Riders on this sprue.  The whole sprue arrayed.  WG is promising Dwarfs and Undead in the near future, and I will be there for both!  Thanks for reading!  --Scott
