TFA2 Version 1.3 Play-Test Up

  The latest version of Techno-Fantasy Adventure 2nd Ed. play-test doc is up!  Download it here ! Here is the change log from version 1.2 to 1.3. This is the major changes, but there are also a number of smaller ones I did not list.  Changes from Version 1.2 - 1.3 * Changed the Background / Subplot system to play more smoothly.  * Changed Base upgrades in the post-battle. * Added more clearly defined rules for advancing GC characters. * Replaced Hard to Kill trait with Diehard trait.  * Tweaked the Charge / Sprint rules to get rid of the penalty to hit.  * Changed Wall Crawler to Bug and edited its features.  * Added the Ghostly GC model Trait.  Thanks for looking!  Scott

Latest TFA2 Play-Test Doc Is Up!

 Latest update of the TFA2 play-test doc!  Find it here .  Here's the change log:  Changes from 1.1 to 1.2 * Took out the Defender trait * Added in the Tactician trait  * Added a short list of common conditions.  * Hitting the DB on a MD check now allows you to leave the combat and ignore a free attack from _one_ foe of your choice, not all of them.  * Hitting the DB on a MD check with the Combat Master Trait lets you leave the combat and ignore ALL free attacks.  * Added a Disarm ability to Telekinesis. * Added a new power, Leap Up / Down.  * Revised the Subplot rules and Background table.  * Added a Quest table to the campaign section * Clarified the rules for switching weapons  Thanks for looking!  --Scott

Latest Play-Test Document Update For TFA2E Up

 After another week of writing, collecting feedback, and play-testing, version 1.1 of the TFA2E play-test doc is now up.  Here's the highlights of the main changes: Changes from 1.0 to 1.1 * Re-worked the rules for building GC models to better balance with the PC creation rules. * Revised and expanded Fate of the Fallen procedure for PCs taken OOA * Changed Shields from Armor dice to a defense bonus * Added more detailed environment options for scenarios * Added a detailed foe table for scenarios * Bulked out the Rescue scenario * Changed the "Change Fate" Power * Placed the explanation text for Boons in Chapter 1.  * Reduced the base ranges of Powers like Brain Burn, Stun, Telepathy.  You can download it from here .  How about a couple of play-test pics to go with it!  Thanks for checking it out!  --Scott

Play-Testing Techno-Fantasy 2nd Edition

 I can't believe it's been 4 years since I released Techno-Fantasy Adventure . As I was planning what to work on in 2026, this fact dawned on me, and  TFA rocketed to the top of my list.  So what will be new in 2E? Here's an excerpt from the revised Chapter 1:  What's New / Different In TFA 2E?  This second edition of TFA offers clarified and expanded rules, and also takes 3+ years of player feedback into consideration with its additions and innovations, while still capturing the fast, loose, and wild spirit of the first edition. Here’s a brief list of what’s new or different in this edition:  * Player-facing mechanics for Solo / Co-Op Play * Revised & expanded Traits * Character Background mechanics  * Expanded Campaign rules I am finalizing the text of 2E as I write this, and check the end of this post for a link to the play-test document.
