More Shots From Last Saturday's VMF Game

My VMF game went really well last Saturday. I am more convinced than ever that running VMF, a skirmish RPG, as a pure TTRPG is a really great way to do super RPGs. Structuring each session around two battles / major encounters, and throwing in a roll for each player on the Backup Tales table prior to each battle, creates amazing role-play and storytelling opportunities. For example, in the previous session, one PC, the Gray Golem, rolled an Old Friend / Old Flame result. We decided he met an old flame, and since his Will roll was a good one, they hit it off again. Awesome! This time around, he rolled a return to his home town. He decided that he would take his Old Flame with him. This time he rolled poorly on his Will check, and he decided that the visit went poorly and they broke up again during this home visit.
