My Other Car Is A BattleMech

 While I am a game designer who makes and sells his own games, I love other folks' games too!

My buddy, Stu, and I have been playing a monthly BattleTech Override Co-Op campaign for the past year or so. If you've never heard of it, Override is a fan-made version of BT that is a true skirmish miniature game, and delivers a level of detail falling somewhere between Classic BT and the ultra-fast playing Alpha Strike. 

The guys from Death From Above Wargaming have a great YouTube channel, and they made this amazing (and free) variant out of pure love for the BT universe. 

I thought it might be fun to share a couple of the Mechs from my bespoke Merc unit that Stu and I have been running through its paces. 

Here we have an MAD-3D Marauder...

and an OTL-4D Ostol. 

Both are heavies. Stu has of course painted a bunch of his own Mechs in the same paint scheme. That has not stopped me from painting an entire company of Mechs of my own in this scheme, and I plan to show them all here soon. 

The Marauder pictured above is the 12th model in this scheme, so my company is complete. 

Catalyst Game Labs keeps putting out great new stuff for the BT Universe, and I will continue to be there for it!

The Return of SuperFigs?

 Well, maybe. The last year or so I have been quietly working with a talented digital sculptor who approached me about redesigning the SuperFigs line as STL files. It's been 24 years since the release of the first SuperFigs, and I just can't believe it.  So he has been slowly beavering away at figures who strike his fancy. And I am content to let the process play out and see where it goes. There's no deadline. No release date. No pressure.  But Eric did send me some test prints last month, and I finally got around to painting them up. Yeah, I make a lot of super games...

     Artwork by Jan Annarella.  I make a lot of super games because I love the genre and I love tinkering with different mechanics and dice systems.  I figure that if you also like super games, one of my rule sets might be for you! That's why a couple of years ago I published the FCS Guide to Super Gaming .
