Minis Painted For First Traditional Grimme Perils Game Since Its Release

Image
Since Grimme Peril's release I have only run solo and Co-op games, but tomorrow I will be running a full-on traditional GP game for 6 players!  I've been prepping miniatures like mad, and I wanted to share a few of them here.  Kitbashing these figures from various plastic sets was a blast. I leaned heavily on Frostgrave and Wargames Atlantic, but also some awesome Victrix Rus Vikings.  Every player made two characters, so what you're seeing here is just a selection. It's going to be a blast running this game, and I hope to share pictures of the gathering.  Thanks for reading!  --Scott

Mysteries of Toulouse Adventure 4:

Isaac and Clement Allenwright were reunited at the Chantry, but just as they started to catch up on each other's adventures, a steward interrupted them with a desperate plea. It seemed a Chantry master of arms had gone missing. Several different crews were being tapped to search for him, and Isaac and Clement were asked to help out in the search of the city, but it would be just the two of them in their small search party.  My buddy, Kurt, was back for another Co-op session of Grimme Perils , so Clement and Isaac would team up again for this one. We asked One-Page Mythic if the Chantry would allow another bodyguard in the wake of Finnian's demise, and we got a No  on that question. We then asked if they had another task for us and got an Exceptional Yes. This meant something important. We rolled for Meaning. We got "PC", "perfect", and "burden". After a bit of thinking on this, we decided that one of the masters slated to train us (PC, perfect) ha...

Hobby Notes

Image
I thought it might be fun to share a a couple of hobby notes from the past week.  The Nomicon  Published by Mythemere Games and written by Matt Finch, the Nomicon is a work of gaming genius that focuses on naming people, places, and things.  This book feels as good as it looks!  With nearly 350 pages of amazing naming content organized by theme and culture, this book is useful for players and GMs alike, and represents an invaluable resource for any RPG soloist.  Check out this great layout! Get your polyhedral dice ready, because they will get a workout generating cool and thematic names for your characters and campaigns. If you're curious, you can grab it from Mythmere at this link .  The CollapsiBowl I started seeing ads for this on social media sites, and initially dismissed it as silly, but then I took a closer look at it and read some user comments. This made me take a chance on it, and it arrived a few days ago. Wow!  Here it is in action o...

Mysteries of Toulouse Adventure 3: The Fane of Tartarus

Image
Welcome to another installment of my  Grimme Perils  TTRPG campaign, Mysteries of Toulouse.  Adventure 3 began with Isaac, Finnian, and Rothgar planning their sojourn to the evil temple that the three swore a blood oath to cleanse near the end of the previous adventure.  Finnian, Isaac, and Rothgar (painted by me). In one of the Chantry's quiet studies, the barbarian priest* Rothgar finally mustered the will to utter the foul place's name, the Fane of Tartarus .  My buddy and ever-reliable play-test partner Stu joined me for this Session, making it a Co-op affair, which I love. We decided to roll for a few Meaning words using the One-Page Mythic GM emulator to give us some clues as to what the temple's theme might be, and thus help us name it. We ended up rolling three times and we got: "warm", "conflict", and "good". After batting a few ideas back ad forth, we decided the evil temple was devoted to the darkest aspects of death and the Underw...
